Battersea Park hosts charity runs and 5Ks through most of the year — Race for Life, local fun runs, company charity teams pounding the paths by the Thames. And every single one of them looks better in matching t-shirts. If you're organising a team, here's how to sort custom charity run t-shirts without the stress.
Why matching shirts matter on race day
It's not vanity — well, not only vanity. Matching shirts mean your supporters can spot you in a crowd of thousands, your team photos actually look like a team, and the charity's name gets seen by everyone along the route. Sponsors notice too: a logo on twenty running shirts is cheap, highly visible backing for whoever sponsored you.
What to print on a charity run shirt
Keep it simple and readable at a distance:
- Front: team name plus the charity's name or logo
- Back: individual runner names or nicknames, plus a sponsor logo or two
- Sleeve (optional): the event name and year — "Battersea Park 5K 2026" makes a decent keepsake
One colour of print on a bright shirt beats a fiddly full-colour design nobody can read at fifty metres. White or neon tees photograph brilliantly against the park's green.
Timing: when to order
Ideally, order a week or two before race day — it gives everyone time to confirm sizes and leaves slack for stragglers. But charity teams are never that organised, and we know it. That's exactly why we run a same-day service: the three extra runners who signed up on Thursday can still have shirts for Saturday's race. Just call us first on +44 20 3507 1549 so we can set the garments aside.
Picking the right shirt for running
- Breathable over heavy. A lightweight cotton or sports fabric beats a thick fashion tee over 5K.
- Size range matters. Charity teams span every body type — order a genuine spread from S to XXL, and when in doubt, size up. Nobody wants a skin-tight race photo.
- Wash once before race day if you can. Fresh print is best given 24 hours to fully cure.
Sizing a charity team without the headache
The group chat will not give you sizes. Accept this now. Order a spread — S to XXL as a minimum — and lean heavy on M and L, which always go first. If the charity has run the event before, ask last year's organiser what sold out; sizes repeat surprisingly well year to year. And order two or three spares in the most popular sizes — there's always a volunteer who materialises on the morning itself.
After the race: get more from the shirts
The race ends; the shirts don't have to. Teams reuse them as volunteer uniforms at the charity's next event, auction signed ones if a well-known runner took part, or simply wear them to the pub afterwards — which is free advertising for the cause. Ask us to add the year to the sleeve and they become a series: runners collect them like medals.
Collecting from near the park
We're at 264 Lavender Hill, about ten minutes on foot from Battersea Park's north gates — easy to swing by on your way to number pickup or the start line. Order in the morning, collect the same afternoon, run on Saturday. Plenty of printing in Battersea options will quote you a week; we're the ones you call on Thursday.
