The stag do is this weekend. Someone was supposed to order the matching t-shirts three weeks ago. That someone is now you, it's Thursday, and you're Googling frantically. Breathe — this is literally what our same-day t-shirt printing is for.
The classics that always work
You don't need a design degree. The stag and hen shirts that actually get worn (rather than binned on Sunday) follow a formula:
- One strong line on the front. "Dave's Last Stand", "Lucy's Final Fling" — the stag or hen's name plus the occasion.
- Nicknames on the back. Everyone gets theirs. This is non-negotiable; it's the whole point.
- The date and place. "Clapham, October 2026" turns a joke shirt into a keepsake.
Keep the design to one or two print colours. It looks sharper, prints faster, and means less faffing about at the counter.
Last-minute? Here's the honest timeline
Order in the morning, collect in the afternoon — that's our same-day service, and stag and hen orders are its bread and butter. A group of 10–15 shirts with names on the back is a completely normal same-day job for us.
What we need from you: the final list of names (spelled correctly — check the group chat, not your memory), the design idea, and sizes. Send it over in the morning and pick the shirts up on your way into town that evening.
Design tips from behind the counter
We've printed thousands of these. What works:
- Big and readable. The shirt will be seen across a noisy pub, not examined in a gallery. Small text is wasted.
- Dark shirt, light print (or the reverse). Contrast is everything after the third pint.
- Avoid tiny detail and gradients for printed names — bold shapes survive the night better.
No design at all? Tell us the names and the joke. We set simple text layouts every week and they come out better than you'd expect.
Designs we've had to talk people out of
In the spirit of honesty: tiny inside-joke text that nobody else understands, the groom's face repeated ten times across one shirt, and anything involving glitter vinyl on a shirt that will be worn in the rain. All technically printable. None of them looked good by midnight. When in doubt, simpler is funnier — the joke lands harder when people can actually read it.
One design or two? The guest-of-honour question
The eternal debate: does the stag (or hen) get a different shirt from everyone else? Our take, after thousands of these: yes — and it's the cheapest upgrade you can make. Same design, but the guest of honour's shirt in a different colour, or with "THE STAG" where everyone else has a nickname. It photographs brilliantly and it means they can't get lost on a busy night. It costs nothing extra if you tell us upfront.
Sizing a mixed group
Order the full spread — S through XXL at minimum. Stag groups in particular span a range, and a shirt that's too small simply won't get worn. Order one or two spares in M and L; there's always someone who "forgot" to reply to the group chat.
Heading out in Clapham, Putney or Fulham?
We're at 264 Lavender Hill, two minutes from Clapham Junction station — right on the way to a night out in any of them. Collect your shirts on the way in and walk into the first pub already looking like a unit. Plenty of places do printing in Clapham with a week's lead time; we're the ones you call on Thursday.
